When was CPPF founded?

The California Public Policy Foundation was founded in 1986 as the outgrowth of The Supreme Court Project, an educational endeavor that published essays and in-depth analyses, both pro and con, of the tenure of former California Chief Justice Rose Elizabeth Bird to provide the vitally important platform — not provided by the major media — for serious discussion of the issues involved in Bird’s 1986 retention election. CPPF was founded to continue providing such a platform for serious discussion of issues and to provide information still routinely ignored or distorted by the major media. CPPF’s flagship publication, California Political Review, was founded in 1990. For further information, see: About The California Public Policy Foundation.
